Lost in the Forest? Come We Learn From the Monkey
Lost in the Forest? Come We Learn From the MonkeyPeople living in urban areas, may not know much about the life of tribal communities.
When we lost in the woods and experience hunger or thirst, tribal Talang Mamak in Riau mention, not hurt us to learn from the monkeys.
Let us refer to some local wisdom for us who want to enter the forest area. Entering the wilderness area, we were asked not to boast or does not do strange things.
If we run out of stock in the middle of the woods, do not panic. Riau's tribal or tribal whatever is in the wilderness areas in Sumatra have the same knowledge to survive in the jungle.
According to one traditional leaders Talang Mamak, Sidam Frog (70) who live in hamlets Datai, in the peak of Bukit Tigapuluh National Park (TNBT), Indragiri Hulu regency (Inhu) Riau, when we run out of food provisions, we must learn by monkeys. In the middle of the woods, many fruits are seldom seen and rarely also in the dining community.
"If it is in the middle of the woods your supplies run out, do not worry. You can eat fruits in the forest. Learn from monkeys. Eat fruits are eaten by monkeys, because monkeys eat fruit that is definitely not poisonous."
"But on the contrary, if the monkey did not want to eat the fruit, we do not try to eat it. The fruit is not eaten by monkeys surely poisoned fruit," said Mr. Frog so familiar greeting.
Other disciplines we need to learn is, when we lost in the woods. In jungle areas, we can not see the sun clearly. This condition will confuse us to see where the position east or west.
According to Mr. Toad, do not worry if you can not determine which direction is east and west. The tip is, look at the tip of the tree in the forest area.

Tip of the tree will generally skew and tilt it inevitably leads to the sunrise. If it can not be seen clearly, the more tips we are told to see the moss at the bottom of the tree.
"Trees are usually the lower middle of the forest moss. See, the thickest and moss green, it must be to the east. While the moss that is not too thick, certainly was in the setting of the sun," said Mr. Frog.
If we thirst in the middle of the forest area and did not find the river, continued Mr. Toad, it is advisable to look for water in small holes or large.
"Drinking only water in the holes along the existing holes in the mosquito larva. If mosquito larvae can only survive in water, then we can also drink the water."
"But if there is clear water, but no jentiknya, do not try to have a drink, it could be that there is poison water. Or can we also look at the monkey, that the monkeys would drink this water, that water is guaranteed non-toxic," said Frog.
